Making it easier for developers to build with LinkedIn
At LinkedIn, we strive to make it easy for you to build on our platform and deliver a positive experience for our partners. Whether you’re building community management or advertising solutions, we know that your work is affected whenever we make updates to the platform. As our business grows, we aim to quickly deliver increased value with platform improvements. However, we recognize that frequent updates, especially breaking changes, can be disruptive and make it harder for you to focus on development. We listened when you shared that we were releasing too many API changes with short warning time and our existing content APIs could be difficult to use.
That’s why we are excited to share that on June 14, we will introduce two new updates to our Linkedin Marketing APIs that will help you build faster, decrease time spent on troubleshooting, and streamline how you work with LinkedIn. Here’s what to expect:
API Versioning
We know that your work can be impacted whenever we make API updates to the platform, since they can be disruptive. To help you overcome the challenges that frequent updates can pose, we will now version all LinkedIn Marketing APIs, which is a more reliable way to release API changes that better accommodate your development workflow.
To make it easy to keep up with the latest releases, every version has its own documentation that covers all Marketing APIs and we will continue to publish a changelog every month that outlines what has been updated. Granting you more power to decide when and how to adopt these changes, our API versioning lets you manage updates in a way that works for you, based on your timeline.

New Content APIs
LinkedIn is a platform that connects our members and helps them forge professional relationships. Whether it’s sharing thought leadership pieces, announcing new products, or providing company updates, great content is the key to fostering those connections. Our organic and paid content formats are designed to help marketers grow their businesses, and we recognize that we could have done a better job supporting your customers’ LinkedIn content creation with our existing APIs.
We are excited to roll out four new Content APIs that will be simpler and more intuitive, enabling you to build quicker and adopt new content formats, like multi-image and polls, with ease. Our new Content APIs will include:
API versioning and our new content APIs will put you in control of the development cycle, helping you better anticipate changes and offering the tools you need to develop new marketing solutions. We’ve reimagined the developer experience and this is the foundation on which we’ll offer new formats and capabilities going forward. With the new APIs, we’ve reduced the required steps to upload creative assets and create posts. The new APIs allow us to provide consistency across different formats and maintain parity with LinkedIn’s native platform as we evolve. Most importantly, this means you can offer a great customer experience and grow with us.
Keep an eye on our developer blog for additional resources that will be available on June 14! Also, for those who are technically-inclined, head over to the engineering blog on the 14th for a deep dive into how we built API versioning.

Would be really great if you focus some attention on LinkedIn Recruiter and add some fields to pipeline candidates as you would in any other ATS 💫
Your Channel Partner Game remains an enigmatic maze to most, a labyrinth of missed opportunities and misunderstood dynamics. When will You do something about it?
2yYou have an interesting point.
Engineering @ LinkedIn
2yReducing friction for developers to use APIs they can use without fear of being broken is huge. I love this.
