A Man Of God, An Empty Barrel?

A Man Of God, An Empty Barrel?

I have been thinking about this for a while now. 2 days ago I was driving home, the thought came ringing in my head again; the rebellion against God in the world today keeps growing daily, and a lot of people (even those born in Christian homes) are becoming indifferent about God.

Yeah...…it's a thing of concern to me because I am a grateful man who has a little understanding of how much love God invested in humanity.

That little, anytime I remember convinces me that God doesn't deserve the ridicule man keeps subjecting him to.

People openly mock God because they believe he is just an imagination, or if he exists, is powerless.

It is to my understanding that there are agents of darkness that can't be converted but there are millions of people desperately in search of God, and will gladly answer God's call.

It's taking too much effort than before to convince someone about God and how loving he is....it seems.

To me, there are a lot of preachers (even though more are needed) but the corresponding winning of souls or conversion seems to be low, and lower.

My mind narrowed it down to one thing which could be arguable, and that is Power - exercising heavenly powers. A lot of these preachers lack powers; they are powerless.

The attendant power (to heal the sick, raise the dead, declare freedom to captives and good news to the poor) seems to be insufficient.

I have been privileged to see God move through the Holy spirit in real time, so I know this power is real and works.

And as much we may not know, some people will automatically be converted when they see God's power in action.

Nowadays, we seem to have more talking pastors and reverends, with no power to back it up, thereby making them empty barrels.

There's no need faking miracles because at the end of the day, it is counter-productive.

If you are pastor, Reverend or hold any clergical title, please request for power from God to execute your tasks.

The focus of the world to justify God's power in man is majorly upon those who claim that God called them to be clergy(whether true or false), and you must have the power to do works that comes with it - healing the sick, raising the dead, freeing captives. This may be all the conviction they need.

I am neither a pastor nor a Reverend, not interested in any of that. In fact, I do not ever want any clergical title beside my name. I am a practising catholic, which also rules out any possibility.

I am an entrepreneur seeking to build many business portfolios, but because of this void, I have silently prayed to God to give me these powers.

It won't harm to be a wealthy entrepreneur (filled with power) that heals the sick, raise the dead, free captives and give poor people goodnews, without owning or receiving any church rites.

I mean, I could just be walking or driving in the streets of Lagos or Switzerland or anywhere, I see a lame or blind man, I decree healing upon them in the name of Jesus, and they immediately get healed, right there. Then, there won't be any doubt that it was an instantaneous occurrence. And I would go my own way, but never failing to acknowledge God as the one behind it.

Oh this would be so sweet, and a dream come true but it is left to God to make (the healing and wonders part) a reality. The initial part, he already did.

But then, Pastors and all clergies, please pay the price you need to and activate these powers of God in you, for your church or ministry and for the general good of the gospel. One wonder from God could equal tens of years of talks from you.

Keep talking but back it up with powers from God, it will make everything make more sense and bring more people closer to God.
