Market Demand Requires Innovative Strategies
Travel is back and quickly rising beyond pre-pandemic industry levels. The increase in demand has been fraught with staff shortages, transportation delays, and material scarcities. Boeing is meeting this challenge by collaborating with our suppliers and customers to monitor stability and increase efficiency within our supply chain by carrying safety stock and increased quantities. As commercial demand increases, our teams are using proactive risk mitigation and strategic supply chain solutions to meet customer needs.
We are expanding our supply base globally to ensure part availability for customers and leveraging production stable, competitive manufacturing facilities. Since 2021, Boeing Global Services has awarded nearly 2,000 new part numbers, which are now sourced globally, inclusive of hardware standards, machine parts, and sheet metal.
We continue to prioritize investment in our e-commerce services. Last year, Boeing achieved more than $2 billion in online parts orders. We are focused more than ever on speed and simplification for our customers, who are increasingly looking for an efficient digital interface to meet their needs. In addition to launching new digital tools, we are creating a more streamlined process for partners by realigning strategy, program, and product line management with supply chain and customer support.

Listening to our customers is a priority, and because of this, we have bolstered our portfolio to adapt to their requirements for market demands. So far in 2022, we have tapped industry partnerships to increase our chemicals, speciality materials, and electricals portfolio, as well as added industrial and safety supplies.
In addition, we are solidifying our global presence with investments in top regions to offer more local and global support. In June, Boeing opened the new Brisbane Distribution Centre. The facility at Murarrie, near Brisbane Airport, is the company’s largest aircraft spare parts and chemicals distribution centre in the Asia Pacific region. Boeing will also host a grand opening of a new facility this fall in Germany as a part of our economic investment for growth and future long-term partnership within the region.
Our strategy is simple — we are here to provide safe, quality, timely solutions to keep the world’s fleet flying.
