People Needs

MASTER POLISMAKER

... IN TERMS OF QUALITY OF LIFE

PolisMaker Master’s focus is on use of the holistic approach within urban development and en- vironmental protection. It’s a Master program that combines theory and practice in highly inte- grated way. This course combines the needs of graduates and professionals able to use a variety of disciplines, and direct them how to integrate urban development process with revitalization at a strategical level.

PolisMaker is using new tools and approaches, revising languages and building relationships between different disciplines, promoting well being and quality of life in urban settlements, all through eco- nomic development and sustainability. The course is designed for those who wish to improve their management approach and build skills in the broad area of urban transformation and sustainability.

Skills & Knowledge

MASTER POLISMAKER

The Master Program has the objective of providing methodological and operational tools required for evaluation of the urban transformation and its alternatives, perceived as a complex unitary.

As a result, core approach of the Master is a constant attention to “existential space” and consequently to urban settlements of any size, perceived not only as material but also immaterial.

This interdisciplinary approach favor interpretations of urban phenomena and formulation of the hypothesis of the intervention.

City Makers

a new wide vision

MASTER POLISMAKER

Economic assessment of the intervention projects, associated with private property surveying, is explored in its applicational dimension in regards to multiple approaches adopted by different enti- ties participating in formation and transformation of the built environment.

The goal of this Master program is to train professionals and allow them to develop skills on how to manage choices of urban and territorial transformation in the perspective of quality of life and sustainability.

how to achieve sustainable urban transformation?

MASTER POLISMAKER

The PolisMaker Program focuses on urban transformation management with a practical approach, providing different methods, skills and tools: urban and environmental legislation derived from International, European and National laws, management of international contracts, negotiation processes and conflicts, along with risk management and case studies.

Such skills find their context in a specific holistic approach aiming at highlighting the existential dimension of space, economic and social dynamics of each specific area, also in regard to everyday life.

providing tools for the Cities

MASTER POLISMAKER

Master PolisMaker is a specialistic training for those who wish to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, needed to work within urban and territorial transformation.

MASTER POLISMAKER

POLISMAKER MASTER PROGRAM

MASTER POLISMAKER

The Master is addressed, in particular to those involved in development and transformation of the city and local areas, such as civil servants, professionals, project-financing promoters, real estate developers, financial and insurance operators, non-profit organizations and in essence all those who carry out activities related to program or project manager.

Program is oriented to all those who’s aspiration is to acquire the so-called title “Polis-Maker”, an expert in urban management and sustainability.

The Specializing Master offers dual training program approach, constituted by both frontline and online learning.

MASTER POLISMAKER

PROFESSIONAL DESCRIPTION

The Master’s objective is to create and train a new professional figure, so-called PolisMaker.

PolisMaker is a facilitator, an urban strategist, supervising the transformation of the city and its territory with a holistic vision. PolisMaker is a professional who combines knowledge of urban poli- cies promoted internationally, particularly at UN / UNECE level with technical knowledge and sensitivity to the well-being of its inhabitants. Contributing to the spatial and territorial manage- ment, PolisMaker takes into account existential space, economic and social dynamics that shape everyday life, combining quality of living and economic development.

* * *

This is how my excellent colleague Prof. Angelo Caruso di Spaccaforno, President of the Master Program, at Polytechnic University of Milan, defines a new and emerging professional figure in Italian and international labour market.

Prof. Caruso di Spaccaforno is currently leading a course on Project Evaluation and Economic Estimation – managing the transformation of urban settlements for quality of life and economic development.

MASTER POLISMAKER

Thanks to this interdisciplinary training, PolisMaker finds employment opportunities in Public Administration, Real Estate sector, Engineering companies and Architectural firms, specialized in urban transformation consultations.

For those who had recently graduated, the program represent a concrete opportunity to quickly acquire professional experience, gaining critical capability, strategic mindset and capacity to “read” urban phenomena, which would otherwise require several years of professional experience.

The course consists of 1500 hours during a period of 12 months, from May 2020 to May 2021.

MASTER POLISMAKER
