The Maverick Musk !
I usually see Elon Musk as the “Tony Stark’ of Marvel comics, except that he is not an Iron Man himself. He is a go-getter who has potential to significantly shape our future. I strongly believe that Elon is out there to save this humanity from Robots and AI powered machines by making human cyborgs. A self-made visionary billionaire, a maverick, a technocrat, a self-taught scientist, a space voyage enthusiast, who hates fossil fuels and anything that wastes time such as traffic congestions. On the recreational side he wants us to have fun with flamethrowers and occasional dose of hemp.
He surely desires to make this world a better place by colonizing Mars (Space X), creating zero carbon foot prints (Tesla- “Drive your car. Save the world.”) and now underground maneuvering in cylindrical tubes (Boring company). His genius mind has not even spared the medical science; ‘Neuralink’ is yet another endeavor where he wishes to hack our brains to accomplish higher cognitive abilities via Brain-Computer Interface and machine learning.
Musk has been super successful, who made quick money (PayPal, X.com, Zip 2, Solarcity) and has amazing knack of convincing venture capitalists to invest in highly risky and wacky ideas, many of them have come to fruition. His wild and nonconformist whims have also landed him in serious trouble i.e, removal from chairmanship of Tesla due to unwarranted tweets (making it private without talking to all stakeholders), rebukes from US Securities and Exchange Commission, defamation lawsuits, infamously smoking weed on podcast and what not; undeniably quite a character.
In his latest feat, Elon has been able to successfully seized a contract in the “sin city” Las Vegas to change the way folks usually commute. Vegas- a perfect place to ‘bet’ :). Elon’s “Boring” company already verified a proof of concept late last year in LA (a city with worst traffic problem in US), by successfully running Tesla cars in a ~1 mile long test tunnel, dug from SpaceX HQ to the downtown LA. Now, in this exciting project Musk has been successful in obtaining a $48.7M worth contract to build a less than one mile, Loop mass-transit system with 3-stations underneath Vegas' sprawling, revamped convention center. Battery powered electric vehicles will be ferrying 8-16 passengers at the speed of ~150 mph and hopes to transport ~4,400 commuters per hour. At first glance, such a thing appears to be taken straight outta “Fifth Element” sci-fi movie, but at last its coming to fruition.
I’m particularly excited as Elon’s next target is Maryland (my home state 😊) and LA; although there are some administrative and environmental glitches on the way. Nonetheless, I’m sitting tight but can’t wait to see this wonder coming to my town.

5yI totally agree. He is the innovator of this decade. He revolutionized the electric car technology. His diverse portfolio extends from finance to space to cars. Amazing talent. I will put him in the league of people like Howard Hughes, Tesla, and Steve jobs. What Elon musk needs is a shrewd guy with business acumen. His innovations also extend to Tesla or powerwall solar batteries that has illuminated Western Australia desert. Elon musk was one of the few rich businessmen who offered to help in Thailand cave rescue of 2018. He even built up a quick fire submarine though it was not used in the end. But one has to appreciate his well intended effort to rescue the kids from cave. Elon musk is a business man with big heart and brain.
