Meaningful Choices: Consequential Love
A Valentine’s Day Epiphany
Human romance,
Such a delicate dance,
Joy and sorrow,
Just wait for tomorrow.
-
Loving you, loving me,
Infatuation leaves,
Commitment and caring,
The place to be.
-
Our darling baby,
GOD’s gift ain’t no maybe,
Purities fountain,
A mother’s embrace.
-
Even pride in a tribe,
Or national anthem,
Patriotic and loyal,
Community bound together.
-
But alas revealed,
Beyond the personal,
Outside our own circle,
When our fates are sealed.
-
A stranger’s misfortune,
Poor choices or,
Simply karmic proclivity,
Do we see?
-
A Seagull’s broken leg,
Survival in question,
Healing energy shared,
Lifetime gratitude bared,
-
Our injuries sustained,
Those slights received,
Selfish pursuits revealed,
Leaves decisions to be made.
-
Holding onto the grudges,
Remembering the pain,
Ego’s payoff now plain,
Only martyrs remain.
-
Raising above,
Learning the lessons,
Letting bygones be gone,
In light there is no longer darkness.
-
True meaningful choices,
In forgiving we are forgiven,
The one and only,
Consequential Love.
