Prema Becomes Me

Prema Becomes Me

The Sanskrit word for love is “प्रेम” (pronounced prema). It signifies deep, unconditional, and pure love, often associated with spiritual or divine affection.

Prema Becomes Me

Bless be this holy Sunday,

No more or less than any other day,

Each moment creations flowing evolution,

Unfolding before me, my gratitude uncontained.

Observing my morning routine,

Rituals and habits they do seem,

The relished smell of freshly brewed coffee,

The silence of pre dawn’s essence, no birds yet ready to sing.

As I contemplate all,

Energetic grace rises within me,

Feelings of bliss consume,

My spiritual amnesia subsides.

-

The faces of humanity stream by,

Their mechanical nature so prominent,

Unknowingly sleepwalking,

The strength of Maya compelling.

Driven by emotions,

Animalistic primitive responses,

Fooled by the illusion of free will,

Mentation a never ending circular activity,

Grasping at ideas as they dissipate into mist.

Now aware of awareness,

My underlying screen,

Universal Consciousness presence,

Its discovery I do glean.

Invoking a high power,

Simply my Self hour to hour,

Transcending eternity,

The holy Grail of old,

The golden chalice within I hold.

Determined to stay in balance,

Bringing context to all polarities,

My perceptions, but momentary resting places,

As the colorful fall leaves blow by.

What revelations shall I receive today?

As I smile inwardly in appreciation,

Struck by the awesome mystery,

Innocent purity something to behold.

The elegance of this physical experience,

Captivating and seemingly so complete,

Earth’s school so masterfully constructed,

Experiential learnings to be embodied.

The “middle way” presents,

Synching our left and right brains,

Spirit and physicality,

Divine femininity and masculinity,

Above and below,

Heart and mind.

Living a life of love,

In kindness and understanding,

No longer seeking, yet happily receiving,

As I manifest in giving,

Unblinded I now see.

-

In my cells as the Earth, air and sea,

Unrelenting rivers and majestic mountains,

All life from bee to thee

The glowing moon, bright stars and beyond,

By the grace of God,

Prema becomes me.
