Healthcare Highlights
90% of U.S. Emergency Departments Report Overcrowding
In the emergency department, where every second counts, rising challenges such as overcrowding, increased boarding, and widespread physician burnout are hindering providers' ability to provide timely care. As patient volumes increase and resources are stretched thin, the cracks in the system are becoming more apparent, putting both patients and healthcare providers at risk.
To help healthcare leaders navigate the growing demands for emergency care, our white paper, 'A System Under Strain: Rising Demands in Emergency Medicine,' provides comprehensive, data-driven insights into the factors driving the increasing demand. In addition, it includes insights into the emergency medicine workforce, innovative staffing strategies for ensuring consistent access to care, and more.

4 Perks of Working Both Permanent and Locum Tenens Jobs
Whether early in their careers or seasoned in the field, physicians and advanced practitioners have a variety of job opportunities to grow and succeed. Some may choose permanent positions that provide long-term stability, while others opt for the flexibility and variety that locum tenens careers offer. However, have you ever considered the advantages of working both in tandem?
Combining locum tenens with a permanent role offers several benefits. From earning supplemental income to exploring various practice settings, working both opens unique advantages. Plus, you have the opportunity to help mitigate the impacts of the growing provider shortage, ensuring communities nationwide have continuous access to the care they need.
Radiology Service Line Revival: Medicus Healthcare Solutions Integral Role in a Las Vegas Hospital's Transition and Stabilization
A prominent level-one trauma hospital in Las Vegas had relied on an outsourced radiology group for nearly 60 years. However, the group began facing challenges in adequately staffing the program, leading to a daily unread radiology queue of 2,700 cases and a growing backlog. As staffing shortages persisted, both the group and the hospital's leadership mutually agreed to end the partnership, leaving significant gaps in radiology coverage.
Building on the success of transitioning its anesthesia service line employed through the Medicus Transition Program, hospital leadership made the strategic decision to bring its radiology program in-house as well. With support from Medicus, hospital leadership knew they could ensure the continuity of radiological services while leadership focused on recruiting and onboarding radiologists across multiple subspecialties.

Medicus Cares: Making a Difference in Our Community
At Medicus, our commitment to making a difference extends beyond healthcare to supporting our local communities. This month, members of the Medicus team volunteered at the Lazarus House, an organization dedicated to providing essential resources such as shelter, food, and clothing to those in need. Together, we assisted the Lazarus House staff by creating food packages, distributing items, and keeping the pantry organized. We encourage you to learn more about the Lazarus House and the impact they make here.
