The Struggle of Running a Personal Animal Rescue Center Hu Xiaoxian's rescue center is a personal, voluntary organization without any government funding or subsidies. Aside from donations from animal lovers, a large part of the funding comes from Xiaoxian's own savings from her business. However, with the increasing number of stray animals, the expenses for the rescue center continue to rise, and Xiaoxian had to close three furniture stores to focus on the rescue center.

The Daily Life of a Rescuer Xiaoxian takes care of over a hundred cats and dogs all by herself. Her daily routine includes cooking, cleaning up after the animals, washing cages, and hanging up blankets to dry. She also applies medicine and gives injections to injured animals, or take them out for treatment. Xiaoxian often forgets to eat and will mix pickled vegetables with chicken breast for the cats and dogs, which she eats with rice for a simple meal.

The Struggle of Finding Homes for Rescued Animals Many people who come to inquire about adoption often ask for specific breeds or young animals, making it difficult for Xiaoxian to find homes for the old, weak, sick, or disabled animals in her care. Despite this, Xiaoxian refuses to give up and plans to expand her rescue center to provide more space for the animals to run and play.

The Importance of Donations and Support for Animal Rescuers Xiaoxian's case is not unique in China, where privately run rescue organizations face financial and material resource limitations. Donations and support from the public are crucial in helping these rescuers care for the animals and find them loving homes.
Hu Xiaoxian's selfless dedication to rescuing and caring for stray animals in China is a testament to the importance of animal welfare and the need for support and donations for animal rescuers. Her mission is a reminder that even small actions can make a big impact in improving the lives of animals in need.
