“Reflecting on my time working in the rail industry, I can't help but smile at all the incredible experiences that have come my way. One standout memory for me has been the chance to contribute to projects that directly impact communities, making transportation more accessible and efficient.

“The photo above captures a moment at Blackheath when a massive landslide had disrupted the railway line. Despite the cold and wet conditions, our team rallied together with sheer exhilaration and determination to get things back on track for passengers and freight movements across NSW. Witnessing the tangible difference our work makes in people's lives is the ultimate driving force that keeps me inspired in this field.

“Mentors and role models have played a pivotal role throughout my journey. Their guidance, whether from managers, peers, or formal programs, has been the cornerstone of my career growth. I owe a huge part of my success to their unwavering support.

“When it comes to spending time on a train, you'll often find me lost in a captivating book! Currently, I'm engrossed in "We Come with this Place" by Debra Dank. It's the perfect companion for those immersive journeys where the outside world blurs away.

“But perhaps my most cherished endeavour in this industry is my passion project—working with schools to ignite interest in the rail sector among the next generation.

“I'm a strong advocate for STEM education, and being part of outreach programs that inspire young minds to explore the rail field fills me with purpose and satisfaction.”
