𝐓𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞?

𝐓𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞?

I struggled with this question when I started coaching immensely.

Why would I want to narrow down my target audience?

I thought it would cause me to lose clients.

So when I started out I did not choose a niche, I wanted to help everyone.

I quickly realized people did not know what I did, they were confused and I was not getting my message across.

There are benefits to choosing a niche, and I am now all for niching down and here is why!

#𝟏. 𝐈𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩.

In order to engage your people, you have to identify with them. You want them to say "Oh that's me!"

When you niche down, you are actually describing your ideal client clearly. This allows people to identify exactly what you do and who your help.

𝟐. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

When you know your niche, you are able to ask questions of your target clients and find out specifics about what they need help with or what they need.

You can then use this in your marketing so that engage with more of your people.

Plus you know exactly what value posts you need to be creating, because you know who you are creating them for and what their struggles are.

𝟑. 𝐈𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝.

When you choose your target audience it shows your clients that you specialize in their area.

When someone goes looking for someone to help them or something to buy, they are usually very specific in their search.

For example, if they are looking for a pair of shoes they don't just search "shoes". They know what colour and size they are looking for.

The same applies to entrepreneurs. You can be another coach, or you can be the coach who specializes in a certain area.

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐢 𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐢 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐠.

Get my point! You are the specialist in your niche!

If you have been contemplating niching down I strongly recommend that you begin the process of identifying some options. Take a look at who you want to help the most, and if you already have clients, look at who you are attracting as well.

Is anyone else hesitant about choosing a niche?
