Direct, short-term makes you go: “What will happen to me now?”
Imagine the results: Only satisfied by immediate pleasure, immediate gratification, you senses whine with impatience, furious with imperfection. Observing with patience is inferior logic to you, and you easily rush your way into the horns of disaster, infuriating others who have to clean up after you.
Indirect, long-term makes you go: “What will happen to others in the future too?”
Imagine the results: Trained to see near and far, small and big, past and future…you master the art of swooping in quick, and also the art of waiting till fruition. Where others see nonsense, you see dots that connect, affecting not just you but the communities you lead. With awesome foresight, you predict with accuracy, assuring humanity of its future via your guidance.
Simple thoughts like these can create a world of difference, a different timeline.
I used to make decisions with little regard for the consequences beyond, upsetting prospects of health, wealth and relationships that could have seen brighter futures. With options dimming, I turned to new approaches.

By choosing to monitor my emotional patterns and broaden my worldview, I was amazed at how much we can live in ignorance.
