Moment of Clarity: Taking Control
Recently, in talking with one of my coaches, I mentioned how sometimes I felt like that I wasn’t running my business, my business was running me. And that, in those rare moments when I really leaned into my business and took control, I felt like I was at my best.
So, I thought I would apply that same logic to my golf game the other day. At the time I am writing this I have been playing golf quite poorly. So I played a round where I forced myself to be very much in control the whole game. This meant taking conservative shots andnot taking chances. It meant me swinging lightly and not trying to kill the ball. It also meant me taking the time to really plan out each and every shot. Was it a success? Not a huge one. But I managed to hit a little better, feel more in control and feel better about the results.
Keep that in mind. Things will get out of control in your business from time to time. Do what you can to take control when possible. If, instead of being defensive, you go on the offense to take back control, you will feel better and things will likely run smoother.
