Month on the Network - May and June catch-up
At Network Rail we proudly look after Britain’s railway. That’s over 20,000 miles of track, 20 of the country’s biggest stations and lots more.
Keeping passengers and freight moving safely and playing a vital role in supporting communities and the economy.
We're back with another newsletter after the pre-election period – catch up with our stories from the past couple of months ...
Reopening the railway in Levenmouth
The passenger railway in Levenmouth, Fife reopened for the first time in over 50 years on Sunday 2 June.
It’s reconnected local communities to the railway for the first time since 1969, with the help of a 9km long track and two new accessible stations.
D-Day 80th anniversary
This D-Day we remembered the events in Normandy 80 years ago, and all those who served during WWII, including those who worked on the railway.
Revolutionising the way we deliver signalling
Our new £4bn, 10-year signalling framework is an exciting landmark on our path to digitalise the railway.
Here’s how it will help us work in a simpler and better way to give you more reliable and more frequent trains across Britain in the long term.
