Motivation... For Leaders
Inspiration, Money, Pushiness, Punishment, Feedbacks, Speeches, ... How do you motivate your team?
According to Gallup, engaged employees comprise only around 30% of the workforce. And doing a few searches (www.humanresourcestoday.com and www.humanity.com), this is happening because of 5 special reasons:
- They Aren’t Being Rewarded for Good Work
- You’re Micromanaging
- They Aren’t Being Given Interesting Tasks
- They Aren’t Being Asked for Feedback
- They Haven’t Formed Any Good Relationships At Work
We know that people has different levels of self-motivation, but, in general, its not about Money or bad compensation... And for that, one of the responsibilities of the leaders is to get everyone working in the same goal and motivate.
So... THE BIG QUESTION is: How We can do it?
- Find out what each person of your team need and what kind of things motivate him/her;
- Be respectful;
- Lead by example; Be parto f it;
- Be clear,open and transparent;
- Encourage personal growth;
- Help overcome weakness;
- Ask a lot of questions; and a lot, and a lot...
- Welcome involvement;
- Challenge them.
