Be A Mustard Seed Farmer
Luke 13:18–19 (NKJV) 18 Then He said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.
A mustard seed farmer is someone who anchors his faith in all great and powerful God in everything he does. The object of his faith is God. The bedrock of his decisions, words, actions and faith is God and His word. What is a mustard seed? The mustard seed is the smallest seed among all known seeds. The mustard tree usually grows big and tall. However small, every seed is important. Some seeds are too small to be disposed of and ignored. Be like a mustard seed farmer. The mustard seed farmer never ignores a mustard seed, to go and look for bigger seeds. He goes on to plant the mustard seed in the field. When a mustard seed is planted, it grows into the largest tree that provides shelter for birds and shade for humans and other animals. It’s like a mustard seed that a man placed in his garden. It grew and became a big tree, and birds made nests in its branches. This is mentioned in Luke 13:19.
Sometimes God will instruct you in such a way that the instruction may seem insignificant from your perspective, but when you attempt it, it turns out to be one of the best ideas you have ever tried. Despite how insignificant it appears to you or others around you, what God instructs and is anchored in him brings forth greater results. There are times you want to sow your seed. Whether of love, compassion, prayer, or finances. When you look at it with your own eyes, it is so insignificant. I advise you to go ahead and sow it. It will grow in the end to astonish you. The things of God may seem small in the world but have a significant impact. A small grain of true faith, rooted in submission to God, is powerful. Remember, the object of faith, a great and powerful God, is more important than the quantity of faith. Mustard seed kind of faith moves mountains when put into practice. So, Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20)
A mustard seed kind of faith uproots. A mustard seed kind of faith plants.
Luke 17:6 (NKJV) 6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
The power of the kingdom of heaven mirrors the power contained in a mustard seed. The mustard seed kind of faith is the true faith that is anchored in God. So, the power that is working in the Kingdom of God will be the same power working here.
Matthew 13:31–32 (NKJV) 31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
The power and influence of the mustard seed when planted is like the influence the Kingdom of God exerts.
Mark 4:30–34 (NKJV) 30 Then He said, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.” 33 And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.
Don’t withhold your hand from sowing just because it seems small or insignificant. If your actions and faith are rooted in God, go ahead and take action.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 (NKJV) 6 In the morning sow your seed,
And in the evening do not withhold your hand;
For you do not know which will prosper,
Either this or that,
Or whether both alike will be good.
Be a mustard seed farmer. A mustard seed farmer puts his hope, decisions, actions and faith in God. God is the bedrock of his faith. God is the object of his faith. When grounded in the all-great and powerful God, no seed or action is without significance.
