My Best Travel Rituals

I write this message to you from a plane on a runway in Zurich.

I’m in a creative mood, writing in my journal and capturing insights for my next book.

It’s been 14 days of travel with multiple leadership events, media interviews, long walks in majestic European cities, fascinating conversations and a lot of time to think.

As you know, traveling is an amazing education. I’m never the same man when I return home from an adventure. Each city and all influences have strong or invisible effects on my perception, philosophy and ways of being.

Some of my best travel rituals are:

—hydrating fully during the flight.

—starting to read a book as soon as I’m seated so I’m in the groove to learn all flight.

—putting a ton of salt on the dessert so I’m not tempted to eat it.

—visiting an art gallery to grow my inspiration.

—taking long walks early in the morning or late at night.

—writing about my experiences in my journal to heighten awareness, deconstruct the lessons and relive the moments.
