My Literary Activities in 2024

My Literary Activities in 2024

In 2024, I published 9 new poems, 7 poetry translations, 5 prose pieces (essays, translator’s note, interview) and one poem reprint (21 new pieces).

I continued organizing Shab-e She’r (Poetry Night). In April 2024, we celebrated our 100th event and in November, we had our 12th anniversary event.

I continued to curate the poetry nights for the HAPPENING Multicultural Festival with online and in-person events.

And, as a member of the Feminist Caucus of the League of Canadian Poets, along with fellow feminist poets, I was involved in organizing a couple of Canada-wide online events.

I had online and in-person class visits to universities and schools in Canada and the United States.

I continued in my role on the Translation Advisory Board of The Other Side of Hope: Journeys in Refugee and Immigrant Literature, UK.

I read at online and in-person poetry events, readings, conferences, magazine launches and festivals and delivered a webinar.

In the year 2024, I was honoured with Life Membership to the League of Canadian Poets for “poetry, advocacy, and representation in Toronto's poetry community as well as in the League's.”

In 2024, Cy Strom and I finalized the manuscript of the international poetry anthology Woman Life Freedom: Poems for the Iranian Revolution. In December, we received the review copies. You can now pre-order the book from online book retailers, local bookstores, or the publisher, Guernica Editions. The launch will be on March 30, 2025.
