My take on the "Elon Musk" Clubhouse hype.. and why I disagree with what most have to say..
Original Post here, this is my take.
So... the Elon Musk hype on Clubhouse happened… here’s where I wholeheartedly disagree, with what he had to say.
Last night's talk on Clubhouse was interesting, not just because it was Elon Musk calling out Robinhood's CEO about the Gamestop Debacle (which was interesting .. see link below) ... but because of a comment Elon made that most people glossed over.
Elon was asked, "how do you motivate entrepreneurs"
Elon's short answer was something like - "if they need me to motivate them, they probably shouldn’t be entrepreneurs".
And that in my opinion is not true.
Many people in the past year have been forced into entrepreneurship. Not all of them had grandiose ideas of being thought leaders, content creators, or titans of industry.
They were laid off, furloughed, and saw their companies downsized. They had to find a way to survive because they couldn’t live on unemployment. It’s incredibly hard to be thrown into this kind of situation and forced into a role you did not want.
Occasionally, everyone needs some motivation.
Occasionally, hearing an inspiring Ted Talk or mentor can help you get clear.
It can reconnect you with your purpose.
It can help lift you up at a time you feel like you can't get off the ground.
Even better? A supportive COMMUNITY can help you keep going - because you have accountability to those committed to seeing you win.
So, No Elon.
I disagree.
Sometimes people need a push - or a nudge - to inspire them to keep going and show them a path to achieve their goal.
