"Never tell me the odds"

I will admit that by the time I get to Friday, I am pretty “gassed”. Tired, a little chippy both at home and at work (I have banned myself from writing/sending emails after 4pm), I have now put time aside late Friday to do two things: recognise our people in our system called “Shine” and broadcasting something in terms of our product performance that, put frankly, cheers me and others in our business up a bit

On the recognition front, I would encourage everyone to put something in their calendar, for me 4.30pm Friday, to recognise someone who has done something special during the week or has just done their day job really well. Last week, I recognised the wonderful Patrick Ellis in our commercial team. An immensely valuable combination of commercial acumen with an engineering background, Pat helps my product team get key decisions right. At Vocus, although we have great products, great networks and great people, we know we still have to compete (profitably). Thanks Pat “E” 😊

In terms of product performance, the item that cheered me up last Friday was the improving metrics in respect of our Vocus Managed SD-WAN product:

Vocus, like many network providers, has had its moments with SD-WAN over the years and in completely shifting our delivery model, risks were taken. The good news is that what we call internally “SD-WAN 2.0”, launched only in April last year, is starting to fire.

So, why is Vocus Managed SD-WAN smoking hot?

Are we at Vocus the biggest game in town re SD-WAN?, definitely not. Do I think we can get there?, some might say the odds may not be in our favour, but as a challenger brand we say, who listens to odds anyway …
