New Podcast Episode: Spotlight at 8 – A Glimpse into My Early Journey

In "Spotlight at 8: My Journey from Classroom Photos to the Global Stage," I share how, at 8 years old, I unknowingly stepped into the world of storytelling and public speaking—long before I even knew what that meant.

When I was 8, in Trappes where I grew up, my uncle’s friend François, a passionate teacher, had a unique idea. He was teaching a class of children who had just arrived in France, many hardly speaking french, helping them learning this new language.

Instead of using traditional textbooks, he wanted to make the lessons more relatable. So, he asked my parents if I could become the “face” of his lessons, and just like that, I became Farida—the character who went to the post office, had lunch, and did her homework.

François used these images to help the children, who were around my age, connect with the material in a way that made learning French easier. Looking back, I realize how much that experience shaped me. Even at such a young age, I was inspired by his creativity, empathy, and commitment to making a difference.

Funny enough, this also put me in the spotlight early on, and I think that’s where I first discovered a love for being seen and heard.

Maybe it’s no surprise that today, I feel so at home on stage, sharing stories and connecting with people around the world. That little Farida might have been the start of it all!

In this episode, I reflect on how those early experiences shaped my career today as a speaker, mentor, and advocate for cultural connection and diversity.

If you’ve ever wondered where my passion for the stage comes from, this is the episode for you!🎧

Thank you for being a part of my journey, and stay tuned for even more exciting stories coming soon!
