#October 31st: Have Courage

A repeat of the article we opened October with...

MarketPlace Momentum - (The Living Stones Edition - 2nd ED)

Courage is what it takes to stand up & speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down & listen. As Joshua 1:9 reminds us, 'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.'

Courage is also what you don't do because you have chosen a different path. It's often calm and even silent🔕. Proverbs 28:1 tells us, 'The wicked flee though no one pursues. The righteous are as bold as a lion.'

Courage also involves rethinking strategies, debriefing past mistakes, and channelling energy to aspects of life and profession that deliver value. As 2 Timothy 1:7 says, 'For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind.'

Today, October 1st, my courage is to work up, return to basics and make progress.

What's your courage?

Before you answer that, get ready to be energized with powerful strategies designed to ignite the potential in every individual in the MarketPlace, including you and me!

1. Have faith in God

As Bishop Ng'ambi puts it, God responds to faith. Trust in His guidance and timing for your professional journey.

2. Implement 'Design Thinking' in problem-solving

Don't do anything because you feel like it. Link all you do to providing value for something a consumer or individuals within your service would need. Start with the end in mind.

Apply this innovative approach to tackle complex business challenges by emphasizing empathy, ideation, and rapid prototyping.

3. Cultivate a 'Growth Loop' mindset

Focus on creating self-reinforcing cycles of improvement in your work, where each success feeds into the next opportunity for growth. Build on foundations that are working.

4. Practice 'Radical Candor'

Candor is telling it as it is. Speak the truth with facts and be open. Start with yourself.

Balance caring personally with challenging directly to create a culture of open, honest, and productive communication in your professional relationships.

5. Develop 'T-shaped' skills

Combine deep expertise in one area (the vertical bar of the T) with broad knowledge across multiple domains (the horizontal bar) to increase your versatility and value in the marketplace. The era of the expertriet is soon coming to an end. The world needs experts who are extremely good in one or two areas but know how to link knowledge to other things and make meaning and practice of that know-how; they are awesome in general areas and scope.

I wish you well for #November.

Here is my prayer for you:

“The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” Deut 28:13

May the Lord bless you and bless the work of your hands.

I was hoping you could do me a favour: share this within your networks and spread the learning and encouragement.

Best wishes 🙏🏿
