Office Manager Roy Cornelio Shares His Moomoo Journey, Highlights His Takeaways Working for a Global Company

This summer, we had the pleasure of speaking with our New Jersey Office Manager, Roy I. Cornelio . With Dominican heritage, Roy speaks both English and Spanish fluently. He grew up in Washington Heights in New York City, a community rich in culture, before moving to New Jersey in 2009. With extensive experience in office management, Roy brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective to his role at Moomoo's Harborside Building in Jersey City. His strong organizational skills and leadership abilities have greatly contributed to the team’s success. Passionate about creating an inclusive work environment, Roy values communication and collaboration among his colleagues. Outside of work, he enjoys giving back to the community and exploring the diverse culinary scene in New Jersey.

Tell us about your role as an Office Manager at Moomoo and what you like the most about working here.

Every day is different, which keeps the job exciting. My main focus is to ensure the office operates smoothly and that everyone is comfortable and well-supported. This means making sure colleagues have what they need, guests feel welcomed and assisted, and any issues are resolved swiftly. Supporting my team to perform their best each day is a crucial part of my role. I also enjoy being a hub of information in the office; it's rewarding to be the go-to person who keeps everything moving efficiently. I’m lucky to work with a team that I truly admire—open-minded and innovative individuals who inspire me daily.

What is it like working with Moomoo colleagues from other parts of the world, and how does that impact your work?

Working with colleagues from various global locations keeps things dynamic and lively. We frequently host our international colleagues in the New Jersey office, which adds to the busy and energetic atmosphere. Moomoo has teams in the U.S., Singapore, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Canada, and I love the cultural exchanges that come with this diversity. I enjoy recommending local spots, discussing our team dynamics, and sharing and learning phrases from different languages. One of my goals is to visit our Malaysia office someday, I would like to visit our Shenzhen office but it’s a long line of employees waiting to get into the building! 

The global aspect of Moomoo was a big draw for me initially. The company's growth trajectory promised an environment where I could also grow. In the past year alone, Moomoo has become one of the top online trading platforms in Singapore, with around 1 in 3 people using it, and we’ve expanded to Canada.

How has working for a global online trading platform inspired your investment journey?

I’m still learning about investing but working at Moomoo has been incredibly inspiring. The company places a strong emphasis on educating new investors, whether through educational tools like our paper trading simulator or through interactions within the Moomoo Community. I regularly pick the brains of my colleagues about investing, and without Moomoo, I might never have considered investing seriously. The wealth of knowledge here has been invaluable in my learning process.

Finally, what has been one of your favorite accomplishments at Moomoo so far?

One of my standout accomplishments has been being part of the team that expanded from a 3,000 sq ft to a 15,000 sq ft office in Jersey City. It was a significant project that required a lot of effort from colleagues across the company. Seeing how much the new office has enhanced our work environment and contributed to our team’s collaboration and growth has been incredibly rewarding. The celebration party we held was a highlight, and it's fulfilling to see the positive impact on our daily operations.
