One year at Janssen Italia

These are very special days for me because they mark my first year in Italy: a year spent together with the Janssen Italia team, working hard to build the company's tomorrow, driven by our VisiONE.

Italy has always been a dream for me, a way to go back to my roots, as I am fourth-generation Italian and my great-grandfather was born in Conegliano Veneto. At the same time, however, in this Italian adventure, my goal is to look forward and imagine Janssen Italy’s future starting from our main responsibility, i.e. to respond to the needs of the people who are waiting for our treatments.

The pandemic has completely overturned our certainties and as we face changes - which sometimes pose real challenges – I think it is key to embrace them with positivity and intellectual curiosity. Socrates said: “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new”. Actually, by being open, we get to see the positive side in every situation and use it to our advantage. 

That is why I have been trying to work with all the functions of the company over the past months to figure out together how we can best get ready to face the challenges ahead. Together, because challenges of any kind are much easier to overcome if we are not alone. Working as one team, united, is what really makes the difference. 

I think that this is the only way to draw people together toward common, shared goals and to build trust. I am proud of what we have achieved so far with my Italian team: we are a great group that can make the impossible possible.

I want to thank all the people at Janssen Italy for this first exciting year together. I look forward to all that we can build in our next year together, confident that we can keep doing great things, to the benefit of all patients and the entire health ecosystem in Italy.
