Organizing Kids Toys/Games

Organizing Kids Toys/Games

If your children have toys, legos and board games all over the floor, it is chaos.

I like using cubbies. You can get cubbies at Target or IKEA. Consider a wall like unit and have it nailed to the wall, so it doesn’t fall down on your children as they reach for items on the shelf.

You can organize by colors, games or types of toys.

All board games should be in one or two cubbies, with the shorter end of the board game box protruding out.

For smaller items like legos, consider a basket or a lightweight container that will fit in the cubbie holder.

Consider a label gun to label where the toys go and teach your children to read those labels so they know when it is time to pick up, where the items go.

You can develop a color chart:

  • Red: board games
  • Yellow: trucks/cars and larger type toys
  • Blue: Books
  • Green: legos and blocks
  • Pink: dolls/stuffed animals
  • Purple: Crafts (crayons, figure painting, chalk, etc)

A child’s size table might be practical so they can put their toys and activities on it for designing, drawing, and creating.
