Our 10 Million Seconds of Moving and Grooving

Our 10 Million Seconds of Moving and Grooving

How do you know you’re working in tech?

Well, you create an app for an internal challenge. That’s exactly what we did with Creatopy Health, developed by our colleague Răzvan Geangu to track every second of our 10 Million Seconds Strava Challenge. 🧡

And yes, we may or may not have been inspired by our 10 million Series A investment—because why stop at one big goal when you can set another?

This challenge wasn’t just about racking up seconds on Strava. It was about getting active, staying consistent, and having fun together.

Whether we were hitting the gym, walking, or trying to perfect that yoga pose, we all found our own ways to make every second count.

And boy, did we!

Why We Did It

More than just a fitness challenge, this was about turning small, daily efforts into long-term habits. Over 17 weeks, participants leveled up by staying active each week, earning badges that marked their progress:

  • Kickstarter (Weeks 1-4) for getting started,
  • Seeder (Weeks 5-8) for keeping the pace,
  • Pacer (Weeks 9-12) for staying steady,
  • Enduro (Weeks 13-16) for pushing through to the end,
  • And finally, Champ (Week 17), for those who saw it through to the finish.

The goal wasn’t just to finish strong but to stay consistent, which made earning each badge a real achievement.

70 Athletes, 12.2 Million Seconds, and More Than We Expected

A total of 71 athletes joined the challenge, logging an incredible 3,790 activities along the way. Our goal was to hit 10 million seconds, and, to our surprise, we reached it weeks ahead of schedule. By the time the challenge officially ended, we had logged a whopping 12.2 million seconds. Guess we got a little carried away with all that enthusiasm!

The milestones kept coming:

  • 28 of us hit the Kickstarter badge in the first four weeks.
  • 7 moved up to Seeder.
  • 10 kept the rhythm and earned Pacer.
  • 6 powered through to Enduro.
  • And 19 finished as Champs, crossing the finish line in style!

Unicorn Points: Making It Fun

We couldn’t resist adding a little gamification to the mix, so we created unicorn points—because why not? These points were awarded based on the difficulty of each activity, how long you stayed active, and how consistent you were. So, whether you were logging a marathon or a simple walk, those unicorn points added up and could be redeemed for rewards like sports gear, wellness goodies, or donations to a social cause. It was our way of making the challenge about exercise, fun, and community.

Ending with a Bang

We wrapped up the challenge by participating in a local running competition. Some of our colleagues joined remotely from the US and Nigeria, while our Head of HR got creative and ran from a stadium in Athens. It was a fitting way to cap off months of dedication and teamwork.

And speaking of finishing strong, we’ve got to give a huge shoutout to Doriana Iulia Antohi —our ultimate Champ. 🏃♀️ Her dedication throughout the challenge was something we all looked up to. If you want to see what a seriously impressive Strava profile looks like, check hers out. She’s been an inspiration for us all.

A Few Fun Facts to Wrap It Up

Along the way, we learned a few things—probably no dogs or toddlers have ever been walked as much as they were during these 17 weeks. Some of us even encountered bears in the wild (looking at you, Ariadna Macrea ), while others found themselves joining the dreaded 5 AM gym club (shoutout to Simona Tataruca for making that work). And if you ever needed a reason to bribe your kid to go hiking, well, the undersigned figured that one out too!

All in all, the 10 Million Seconds Strava Challenge was about much more than just sports.

More Than Just a Challenge

This initiative went beyond a simple internal competition. It wasn’t just about logging time for fitness—it was about making every second count. The hours we spent running, walking, or working out were all about staying consistent and pushing through when it wasn’t easy (or when the snooze button was calling). Seeing our colleagues on Strava gave us that extra push to keep going.

The same focus on consistency and progress applies to the product we’re building here at Creatopy. Just as every second in this challenge added up, every small step in our work shapes how we empower brands and agencies to streamline their ad production.

In the end, it wasn’t just about the 10 million seconds we logged; it’s how those seconds shaped the way we approach what we’re building at Creatopy.

Every second counted, and together, we made those seconds truly matter.

P.S. Huge shoutout to Claudia Rogojan for pulling all the strings and making this happen.

Yours truly,

Laura Trif
