The Safari Tourist Train in Pakistan initially launched to showcase the cultural and historical richness of the Potohar region, is set for a revival by Pakistan Railways. This move is aimed at promoting tourism by offering a unique journey that highlights the scenic beauty and heritage of the area, including traversing the historic iron girder bridge over the Indus River, linking Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

The journey begins at the historic Golra Station, which is home to the expansive Islamabad Railway Museum, housing an array of railway artifacts that provide insight into the rich heritage of Pakistan Railways. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore various sites and engage in recreational activities, particularly at Attock Khurd, known for its scenic beauty along the Indus River.

Amenities on the Safari Tourist Train have been meticulously designed to ensure a luxurious travel experience. Passengers can enjoy delectable onboard cuisine, high tea, improved seating arrangements, and modern washrooms, contributing to a comfortable and memorable journey.


The duration of the journey from Golra to Attock Khurd is structured to provide an immersive experience, with departures scheduled every Sunday at 9 am and return trips from Attock at 6:30 pm. The schedule allows passengers to fully explore the attractions at each stop and enjoy the landscapes and heritage sites along the route.
