COMBATING THE SUNDAY SCARIES! Seven Ideas to Improve the Upcoming Work Week

Here's Our Seven.

1. Give a little more thought to the idea of being your own boss. *mindblown*

I know, I know - but, but but. I can guarantee you that at some point in your professional life, you've said "man, I wish I could do my own thing. Well, there's no harm in exploring the leap from employee to entrepreneur.

Whether you're actively considering the move or just dabbling with the idea of starting a side hustle, I'm sure you have a million questions. Click the link above to get some insight, ease your nerves, and decide whether or not it's time to explore a little bit further!

2. Go to a local farmers market and support local farms before harvest season is gone forever (well, at least until next summer at least). The produce is colorful and fresh, and the community atmosphere of a local farmer's market just can't be beat.

With transporatation costs wallet-busting highs, it's a great time to support food that has less distance to travel and comes from your backyard. Plus, its better for the environment and will provide a much-needed income boost to farmers struggling to manage the increased costs of goods.

Wins all around!

3. Take a bath and listen to an audiobook or podcast episode that you've been meaning to check off your list. Obviously, we hope the No More Mondays Podcast shows up atop your library.

Hot tubs also make a good alternative if baths aren't your thing.

(Disclaimer: keep your phone away from the water, even if it's waterproof; you don't need suds in the charging port, dug!)

4. Speaking of water, spend some time near some - a lake, river, or the ocean.

Research shows that spending time by blue spaces improves mood and significantly increases happiness. Thanks, Barcelona researchers who measured this for us!

5. Learn about workplace satisfaction from Craig Knight, a researcher and Doctorate in Psychology who studies and consults in creating engaging and positive workplaces.

--> Get the psychology in a recent episode of the aforementioned No More Mondays Podcast where Craig joined us to break down this very interesting and relevant topic.

6. Consider a power hour in your daily work schedule.

Try to knock out that project that takes a great amount of thought, focus, creativity, or concentration. Plan it during the time of day when you think best and have fewer interruptions, pause your inbox, set a timer, and go to work.

7. Pick a weekly theme that boosts your motivation and keeps you focused.

i.e. CONSISTENCY --- be consistent with X task, communicate consistently with my team members, workout consistently.

or PATIENCE - have patience with my spouse and kids, resist the urge to refresh the tracking on that package you're waiting for, and curb the urge for instant gratification.
