Partnerships for Shared Growth
DL E&C’s Competitiveness, Driven by the Prosperity of Partners
At DL E&C, various programs are underway for suppliers based on the company’s philosophy that DL E&C’s competitiveness is driven by the prosperity of its suppliers. The company strives to strengthen the fundamentals of partner companies not by offering one-time support, but by extending win-win growth measures from a long-term perspective. Such efforts have also been widely recognized with DL E&C being named a Best-in Class Company in the Shared Growth Index for three consecutive years including most recently in the 2021 Index that was announced in 2022.
Systematic Support for Supplier Growth
DL E&C delivers systematic support to nurture business management and operation skills at suppliers. These programs are funded by DL E&C to provide suppliers with financial consulting from external credit rating companies. In addition, an array of training programs is offered to supplier employees to sharpen capabilities for business innovation, cost-savings, employee relations, quality control, safety, and the environment.
Last year, the ‘Shared Growth in Construction Management Course,’ a management graduate school program for suppliers was offered for the first time in the industry. The program was made possible through an MOU between DL E&C and Chung-Ang University, composed of an efficient training program for suppliers. The CEOs of selected outperforming suppliers participated in the 15-week program which included courses on topics such as shared growth and fair trade, understanding the changing business environment and managing risks, and ESG management.
Supporting Digital Transformation at Suppliers
DL E&C also supports suppliers in sharpening their digital competitiveness and improving productivity. For example, cutting-edge equipment and IT technology are utilized to analyze various information from construction sites and convert it into digital data to provide to suppliers. In addition, the company cascades smart construction technology and knowhow to suppliers by allowing them to rent high-end drones and machine control equipment for free. Through this process, DL E&C plans to enhance work efficiency and productivity while also supporting the digital transformation efforts of suppliers.

Sponsoring Safety Training Programs
Recently, the company has been concentrating its efforts in managing safety at construction sites as it is directly linked to the safety and even the lives of supplier employees and workers. Since 2019, the company has held the ‘Safety Experience School’ training program to prevent accidents at construction sites by providing safety education and training to not only DL E&C employees, but also the employees of suppliers and vendors. At the school, 21 different types of training related to construction sites can be taken including steel frame VR simulations and experiencing caught-in/between incidents. This way, suppliers can gain an understanding on how on-site accidents happen to raise safety awareness and also strengthen their ability to respond in case of emergency situations.
Technology Development with Startups
Efforts are also made to develop new relationships. Seeking opportunities to collaborate with startups across various fields, DL E&C holds an ‘Open Innovation’ program each year. Through the program, prospective startups are discovered with additional technology development and professional consulting support offered for the finalist companies.
Last year, a total 187 startups applied for the program where 7 companies including startups in EV charging infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and smart glasses were selected as the finalists.
As displayed through these initiatives, DL E&C strives to embrace sustainability by fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and creating value for suppliers and all of its stakeholders.
