As August is upon us, many across Europe, including myself, will be taking a well-deserved holiday break. This tradition not only offers a cultural pause but also presents a perfect opportunity to reflect on an often overlooked yet critical aspect of our work lives: the importance of rest and recovery for our brains.

Neuroscience has long demonstrated that our brains are not designed for constant, unrelenting work. Cognitive fatigue sets in when we push our mental faculties without adequate breaks, leading to diminished productivity, creativity, and decision-making abilities.
