A personal update: Writing - Loss - Leadership
As a nonprofit leader, I know you get behind in things and have to put off projects because it's not the right time or because there is no time. That's been me over the last few months.
I have not had time to podcast for several months, and this week, I'm excited to announce that a new episode has just dropped. In this episode, I share why I took a break from podcasting and, most importantly, how everything I'm working on will positively impact you as a leader.
Want to Lead with Strong Values? Follow the Journey to My New Book!
The big break in episodes is because I've been deep into writing my second book, Character Driven Leadership for Women, and while it will be a while before it is published (March 2025), I want to continue to bring you on the journey of the writing process. In this episode, I share some of the ins and outs of the writing process, including the different editing stages and what it takes to bring a book to life. If you're curious about book publishing (maybe you have a book in you, too!) or want a sneak peek at what's coming, this episode will give you some details.
My Personal Reflections on Loss and Leadership
At the end of August, my heart was broken when we lost my nephew. In this episode, I reflect on how hard but beautiful it was to write his eulogy and how it reshaped my perspective on life, leadership, and legacy. This process, for me, reinforced the importance of living and leading in alignment with our values, which you probably already know is a central theme in my work and is also front and center in my upcoming book. In the episode, I talk about how you can learn from writing a eulogy, your own in fact.
Know a Podcast Where I Can Inspire Women Leaders? Let's Connect!
I'm looking for opportunities to share my thoughts and practical strategies on leadership with women leaders in the nonprofit sector, striving to build confidence, achieve balance, and lead with integrity. I'd love to connect if you know of a podcast where I can talk about strategies for managing overwhelm, developing strong leadership identities, or navigating the unique challenges women face in leadership roles. Let me know whether you're a host or know of a show that aligns with these topics! Drop a comment or send me a message with some details.
What's Next for You
I'm moving into fall with renewed energy and am eager to support you in your leadership journey. Here are some ways we can work together.

Back to you
One thing I hope you take away from this episode and my break is that we can't do everything. And if we try, we won't do them all well. Prioritizing can be hard, but it is necessary to be our best selves.
