Portugal is the 5th country in the world that has more renewable energy mix!
181 GW of new renewable capacity were installed in 2018, of which 100 GW corresponds to solar photovoltaic.
Portugal is ranked 5th in the world top of the countries that most incorporate renewable energies in the national electricity generation mix, thus being between Germany and Spain, according to the findings of the annual report Renewables Global Status Report (GSR).
In this context, the report highlights the increasing representativeness of renewable power plants in the global portfolio, which is now above 33% of total installed capacity (around 7,000 gigawatts (GW)). In 2018, 181 GW of new renewable capacity were installed, of which 100 GW corresponds to solar photovoltaic (sufficient capacity, for example, to supply more than 25% of electricity demand in France).
