It is about power again...
In another article here I discussed about the influence of power considering the three ambits of sustainable social relations: politics, culture, and economics. The essence of politics is the solution of social conflicts thru negotiation and agreement, as we saw.
The use of power to solve conflicts can have political, economic, or cultural origins. The objective is always to impose solutions on others without properly considering their demands; therefore, the use of power is not in the essence of politics, and it is not sustainable, as simple as that. Many didn’t pay attention to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner back in 1923-25, but it is never too late.
Which are the demands of Russia at this moment? - a) the US to remove all its atomic weapons from Europe; b) the West to stop any militarization plans of Russia neighbors; c) to create a territorial cushion between Europe and Russia which is represented today by Belarus and Ukraine. This last demand becomes less important if the first two are fully implemented.
Which are the demands of the US? – a) Have most of Europe as part of its influence area to face China in the long run; b) To continue to reduce the influence of Russia in Europe because of winning the Cold War (1945-1990).

We can see that the bulk of demands from both sides is about power as a major source of influence in social relations. The atomic arsenal of both sides can be used to prove that this is not sustainable (for humanity).
Power has been extensively used in human history as a source of influence in social relations, but we need again to emphasize that it is not sustainable: only the economic, political, and cultural ambits are. Please, think very deeply about this.
Russia, the US, and China – the major world’s nuclear powers – don’t need to fight for land. They all have enough. What about to focus on trade (economics), politics and culture among all? – Russians, Chinese, Indians, Brazilians, Americans, Europeans, and the rest of the world, we are all good people, and we want peace and prosperity for all humanity, not war, fear, power games and destruction – all included in our human dark side nature, not the exclusivity of any elite, country, moral view, or society.
President Joe Biden State of the Union Address yesterday (March 1st, 2022) was a clear message of the American dream of peace and prosperity for all Americans. I am sure he wants to extend that invitation to the world including Russia, China, and all countries. He has pointed out the necessity to impose more taxes on wealthy people around the world (avoiding escapes) to transfer income to the middle class. It means to redistribute income to restrain the economic power of the very rich that is a threat to democracy. China is doing the same. As you can see, it is always about power unfortunately. Sustainable businesses need customers with money to spend (social sustainability) without menacing the environment today and tomorrow. It is very simple. Economic elite intra-markets power games are used now to menace countries. It is not sustainable. They don’t care about it. We responsible people do. Most mass media is about rhetoric and gossiping. It is not time to say that our values are better than their values. It is time of negotiation, diplomacy and politics which all lead to sustainable global social relations. There isn’t one truth owner anymore.
