The Power That Made You Also Heals You - From WITHIN
Innate intelligence is the intelligence ingrained into you from the moment of conception and governs every cell, organ, and function of your body that includes but not limited to- the air that you breathe, the water you drink, and the food you eat. To understand this, you might have to think out of the box to get it, that “healing and health” come from WITHIN. It also includes every single chemical, mental, and physical reaction, and it affects every organ, tissue, and cells of your body. I doubt very much for instance after you eat or drink, you give a moment to comprehend the enormity and how complex the functions of the body are, and how it breaks down what you just ate for your last meal and utilize ‘that’ food for energy and to sustain your life. It can be mind-boggling… the power that made you, heals you. It is all made possible if you simply follow some basic principles you can age gracefully and healthy. Every living thing is full of innate intelligence. All the components are there to live life, and not let life live you. Innately speaking…
You then have to ask yourself not only what is healthy, but what is health to- YOU! It is an interesting question that the means something different to anyone I have ever asked. To some, it is the absence of any ill symptom, being able to walk an 18-hole golf course without using a cart, playing with grandchildren, not being stricken with a deadly disease- cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc … to eating and drinking anything without considerations to its ingredients.
What is YOUR definition of health? To base your answer, you need to know the ‘customary’ definition. The Oxford dictionary says that health is the state of being free from illness or injury.
Hmmm, health is not just the absence of disease but encompasses a state of overall well being.
With that being said, going back to 1948, the World Health Organization (WHO)defined health with a phrase that is still used today. "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Then "WHO”- further went on and updated their definition by including the following: the ability to adapt and manage physical, mental and social challenges throughout life.
So how do you get it and what is it composed up. Simply put - if you manage these 5-COMPONENTS OF HEALTH, you too can be on your health game, on your terms.
- Diet
- Exercise
- Rest
- Mental
- Structure is Function
So, tell me- what one do you struggle with the most?
How is your~ Mindset? It is a big buzzword today and a great place to start. If you fix your mindset, the struggle will not be as difficult.
What other area do you find troublesome to overcome… Exercise? Diets- there are so many of them out there, which one is best suited for you? Is being a glass half full and a positive attitude difficult to achieve? Perhaps you’re depressed? Do you have problems with falling asleep- rest issues? Neck and back pain that you are just ignoring and hope it goes away? Lack of energy? Gosh- unfortunately, we could go on and on with what is wrong. Instead, let’s focus on what could go right…
We are all different. Western medicine is usually practiced as ONE size fits all, and that is really wrong. Doctors who still practice this way, are practicing what I call ‘prehistoric medicine’. It presumes the outcome before all your cards are played. In reality, no two people are the same, and ONE kind of treatment does not fit all. Today the doctor of the future works with that innate intelligence, and what could be called ‘common sense’.
Here are just basic common sense recommendations that even if you listen to your inner voice it would agree.
For Diets- eat whole foods and fresh foods… organic is better. What kind of food are you attracted to? Use smaller plates and eat smaller portions if you want to lose weight. Look at how you are combining your foods. Look at food charts for one that attracts you-you will notice on all of them, a poor combination is a protein with a sweet. There is nothing wrong with intermittent fasting, it has been done for centuries but, it needs to be done right. If you do not know how to do it, hire a lifestyle coach who does. Talk with them before you buy! Beware of your lizard brain that justifies indulging and reasons your food choices away… desert, for instance, ice cream vs blueberries… you mindset here is everything to being successful.
Exercise- be consistent, move and do something. If you hate exercise, walk as fast as you can for as far as you. Join a gym and go, schedule it in. If you do not know how to really use a piece of equipment, ASK. Do not do something asked of you if it makes you feel pain and discomfort. Talk with that Lifestyle Coach… if they do not have the expertise, have them refer to someone who does.
Sleep- lack of in injurious for your productivity and well being. Some people need 5 hours, some 8 or 9. This is the time your body repairs itself. If you are not getting enough, you have to look at the above 2 seriously. Naps or rest during the day or even 20 minutes is helpful.
Positive Mental Attitude… it is a choice to be happy. It is a choice to live your life, see good and hear good. Say out loud affirmations. This has been shown to enhance your life… successful people do this. Listen to your inner voice, your innate intelligence. If bad things happen, ask yourself, what did I learn from that and, learn from that? If you are in a gridlock of traffic, ask yourself if there is anything you can do about it? If the answer is yes, do it. If the answer is no, listen to an audiobook that improves your life, any aspect of it will do. If you need suggestions, ask me.
Structure if Function- no one does it better than a good Chiropractor. If you do not have good biomechanics, you ultimately will not have good function. The slow leak in a tire does not only wear and tear at the tire, it ultimately interferes with the function of the car. Structure can be affected by - the thoughts you think (mental), the foods you eat (chemical), and the accidents and trips and falls you take (physical).
What do you want to do? What kind of support do you need? If given the right information, can you just run with it? Or, do you function better in a team environment?
