Press On
Okay, I'm not a sports nut. But I do love watching a good competition. Especially boxing because it's one on one and you can't hide, but that's another topic for another day.
Athletes have to have a “can do” attitude. You cannot be successful unless you learn how to shake off your past failures and defeat. That's what it takes to be a successful CEO entrepreneur. Determination and resolve to try again and again and again and again, until you succeed. That's how you become a champion in life.
Look, I have suffered devastating failures. I've lost $30 million investing in companies that I thought for sure would be home runs. I know what it is to come home to my wife and tell her about the losses. I know what it is to have to readjust an entire family of six’s lifestyle overnight because of my mistakes and my failures.
But these trying times are actually a golden opportunity. They’re when you find out if you have planted good will, love, forgiveness and commitment within your family system. You will also find out if you've done the same within your partnerships.
Partnerships are easy when everything's going great. But true partnerships are formed when an almost insurmountable or death knell problem hits the partnership. That's when you find out if your partners will go through the wall with you or if they'll circle the wagons and protect their own turn. It’s so painful when a family member or business partner decides to draw a line in the sand and treat you differently because of failure.
But however you’re being treated, you must get up and go forward. I have always found that there is a way out of every situation. But you need to get up off the mat and keep moving. If you do this, you will find your positive destiny. You will cross the finish line and revel on the winner’s platform.
So, let’s begin your training today and forget all about what lies behind. Yes, you can learn from the past, but you don’t have to dwell on the past. In my life, I have sometimes spent too much time dwelling on past mistakes and past victories alike. No matter what the outcome, it’s key to keep pressing on, moving forward.
Let go of the old, whether it was good or bad, and embrace tomorrow. It doesn’t matter what happened yesterday. Look forward to your future. Your best is yet to come!

5ySo very true! If somehow we can grab the 20/20 from future hindsight and apply it to the current situation, we would see how much we are learning and how vital it is to support each other.
