Pumps for water and seawater treatment

During the last few years the construction of water and seawater treatment plants has increased a lot, expecially due to the lack of fresh water and to the huge amount of water that is needed for industrial and agricultural purposes.

Salvatore Robuschi has been supplying pumps for this kind of plants for many years, recently developing the new range of pumps in #SuperDuplex SAF 2507.

Vortex, channel, closed and open impellers, together as well as the casings, are now available in stock ensuring the delivery of the whole pump in just 3 or 4 weeks according to the execution.

For the Seawater treatment the requests can be different, starting from the pump material, to the type of the impeller up to the pump execution.

As we can see in the picture at top, expecially for the first stage of the depuration process, vertical pumps are not rare because you can easily handle the liquid from a lower level but sometimes we supply also horizontal pumps to be installed on a floating system.

When the liquid is directly collected from the sea (or from artificial basin) may contain particles and so for the first step is often required a pump with vortex impeller, like our RC: thank to the wide free passage it can handle water with solids up to 150 mm.

For the second stage of the depuration, usually known as Circular Clarifier, is used the channel impeller that allows to handle liquids containing small soft solids, like the sludge or the dirty water where bigger solids have already been removed.

Then comes one of the most important process: the Ultra Filtration.

The UF process is usually made with channel impeller to handle flow up to 2.400 m3/h.

This process is made with membranes and is suitable as a pre-treatment in the preparation of the clean water.

Some seawater treatment plants use another technology called Reverse Osmosis where the water is moved through a fine membrane under high pressure: for this application closed impeller is suggested, where our RD pumps can supply up to 15 bar. Furthermore, due to the high pressure in the plant, the pump usually needs balanced seal or double back to back version.

For every single stage of the water treatment Salvatore Robuschi can supply the right pump, with vortex, channel, open or closed impeller.

Starting from Cast Iron, to AISI 316, until SAF 2507 SuperDuplex: according to the concentration of salt in the seawater we can offer all the pumps with fast delivery.
