Pure Fire
"Catch on fire and people will come for miles to see you burn." - John Wesley
When I was six years old our family's home burned to the ground. All these decades later I still remember that devastating experience with great clarity.
For those of you who subscribe to getting the full content of my books, you know a recent chapter from my first book, Discovering Your Greatness, is titled Two Sides To Everything and Every Situation.
Fire is one of the examples I use.
In the book it says:
'What about fire?
If it is in an unintended place it can very destructive and a source of heartache. Yet, if it is used appropriately, it will keep you warm and comfortable.'
Flame Detector
Recently, a connection of mine, keith palumbo (who is a retired NYC Firefighter), reached out to me to make me aware of a marvelous new product called Flame Detector.
He shared some info about it and a couple of videos like the one below.
I asked Keith and the inventor of the product, John Andres if they would mind if I came up with some creative marketing ideas for their life-saving product and shared a couple of them in this newsletter.
They were on board. So, below the video, I am sharing three ideas I came up with for how to garner attention and produce sales for their revolutionary product.
The Ideas
Let me preface the sharing of these ideas by saying that, to develop these, I used one of my favorite methods of creative thinking called Anchor Term.
With this method, you combine a set Anchor Term - in this case, Fire Detection Marketing - with random nouns. Then, let your imagination go where it will. To show the Anchor Term process, I am sharing the random word + the Anchor Term with each idea below.
**Btw, this is a method we will dive into in more depth and use to develop ideas for those who become members of the soon-launching business success community David Rosenberg and I are launching, the Elite Business Success Group.
Idea Number One: Dictionary - Fire Detection Marketing
In a social media post, ask people to think of a person or business that has been negatively affected by a fire. Encourage them to share their story.
Do this for each letter of the alphabet.
Asking ‘What person or business that begins with the letter 'A' do you know that has been affected by a fire?’ engages their brain to search for someone or some business that begins with that letter.
Human beings are ever on the alert for danger and have a morbid fascination with tragedy. Both are a survival mechanism.
Because of this, incidents and those affected by them are strongly anchored in their mind from the time they hear about them and, especially, if they personally experience them. (as my tragic experience referenced in the beginning demonstrates)

Idea Number Two: Dirt - Fire Detection Marketing
Share videos, articles or stories about old - and now antiquated - methods of fighting fires. (like throwing dirt on them)
Compare and contrast those with modern methods.
Conclude with this question:
Did you know that The Flame Detector can detect fires over 100 times faster than UL approved smoke alarms?
Idea Number Three: Curve – Fire Detection Marketing
Seeing the word curve made me think of baseball which led me to this idea.
Using something familiar like baseball and someone familiar like Nolan Ryan can grab attention.
To do that, the following should be shared on social media. This can be done either in writing or, even better, in a video.
If it is done in a video, the following verbiage should be spoken over a video of fastballs being thrown.
Did you know that, with modern measuring methods, Nolan Ryan’s fastball was actually once clocked at 108 mph?
Modern technology can make all the difference, can’t it?
The Flame Detector is modern technology in detecting fires. It can help detect fires over 100 times faster than UL approved smoke alarms.
No, it can’t help you get a hit off a Hall of Fame pitcher.
But, it might just save the life of someone you love.
Which of these ideas is your favorite?

2wFire is one of the 5 Elements of our Planet. The other 4 are Earth, Water, Air and Space. Fire takes the form of the element which it is engulfing. Fire also purifies the individual and the soul within. Fire also represents transformation. Flame Detectors are very useful because they provide early and reliable fire detection helping to prevent potential disasters in both home and in office settings.
