Qualcomm's big 3Q result, small is beautiful... and ABBA!
So WHY is there are photo of the iconic Swedish pop group ABBA at the top of this week's super condensed weekly Wi-Fi news mail?
Good question. I'll get to that in a second...
This week Wi-Fi chipset leader Qualcomm posted a fantastic 3Q22 result: Revenues for their so-called 'IoT' segment (including Wi-Fi but not only) are up +31% year-on-year. This is exciting because this is a very good indicator of the overall Wi-Fi industry growth rate. The future of Wi-Fi is indeed looking bright - more details here.
And although big is great, small is beautiful. Our latest Wi-Fi NOW Partner is startup Vilo Living - based in Seattle and formed by three intrepid and fearless lady entrepreneurs. Vilo is attacking an important segment within the ISP-managed Wi-Fi mesh - a segment market not really addressed by anyone else. Read about Vilo here.

We're also excited that neutral-host infrastructure provider BAI Communications has acquired ZenFi Networks (another recent Wi-Fi NOW Partner) - ZenFi operates the largest public Wi-Fi network in the US, which is the famous LinkNYC project. BAI now comprises subsidiaries ZenFi, Mobilitie, and Transit Wireless - all formidable Wi-Fi managed service providers. Read more here. We will have more to say about BAI shortly.
Now... about ABBA.... who doesn't love this amazing 1970's pop band? And would you like to meet them? Then here is your (sort of) chance! On September 27 we're taking the entire Wi-Fi World Congress 2022 to ABBA The Museum in Stockholm - yep, it's true. Walk in, dance out - as they say. What's not to love?
