QUESTION: What was your reaction when you found out that you had won the Dream Team award?

RACHEL: I felt incredibly grateful for the recognition, but I was also mindful of everyone’s hard work over the last few months. It really is a team effort, and I’m lucky to be surrounded by incredible colleagues that make everything we do possible.

QUESTION: How was the last month different when compared to other months with the organization?

RACHEL: Leading up to NHL Opening Night, things were crazy! The energy and excitement were unlike anything I’ve experienced before – and a culmination of months of preparation coming together. It really emphasized how special this moment was – not just for the team but for our fans and the entire community. It was amazing to be a part of something that generations to come will remember.

QUESTION: How did you get your start with SEG? What has that journey been like?

RACHEL: I started my career with the University of Utah football team. I happened to know a few people within the Jazz organization and understood what a fantastic place it was to work – so when I saw an opportunity open up with SEG, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. Since then, I’ve grown professionally and personally. The culture here is truly special, and I love that my day-to-day is always changing and evolving.

QUESTION: If asked, how would you describe your role to someone who didn’t know you?

RACHEL: I am the Executive Assistant to the Presidents. My role is dynamic and all-encompassing – there’s truly no task too small or too big. It’s heavily operations-focused, ensuring that every moving piece comes together seamlessly, whether it’s behind-the-scenes logistics or forward-facing initiatives. When people ask what I do, I often say “A little bit of everything!” because my responsibilities span such a wide range.

QUESTION: What is the best part of your role?

RACHEL: The best part of my role is definitely the people I work with every day. I’m incredibly fortunate to work with a team that inspires and challenges me, surrounded by exceptional leadership that offers endless opportunities for growth and learning. It truly is the connections and relationships I’ve built that make this role so fulfilling.

QUESTION: What is your favorite part of being with the organization?

RACHEL: I love the fast-paced environment. It almost feels like a “tech company that specializes in sports,” which really keeps things dynamic. I’m constantly surrounded by talented individuals who inspire me and push me to grow, and creativity is something that I truly value here.

QUESTION: Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

RACHEL: In five to ten years, I see myself continuing to expand my knowledge of the business and following wherever that journey takes me. I’m excited to see how my role will evolve as I gain new skills and experiences.

QUESTION: Any advice/inspiration you’d give to someone looking to join the Utah Jazz or Utah Hockey Club?

RACHEL: Take every opportunity you can — internships, volunteer work, networking. I personally was able to network, volunteer, and intern, which helped me get my foot in the door. Make sure to educate yourself on the market that you want to work in, whether it’s a specific region or the sport itself.

So proud of you Rach!
