I believe that enthusiasm is a powerful force that shapes our lives in profound ways. It's not just about being excited or passionate about something; it's about tapping into a deeper sense of vitality that connects us all. Enthusiasm transcends the specifics of our interests and reaches into the core of our being, allowing us to form deep and meaningful connections with others. When we express genuine enthusiasm, we reveal an authentic part of ourselves that goes beyond superficial interactions, creating bonds that are rich and enduring.
Enthusiasm is contagious. Think of a time when you were around someone who was genuinely enthusiastic about something. Their positive energy likely lifted your spirits and made you feel more alive. 6mo“Chasing Happiness” will not work for one very good reason!! First and foremost, Happiness is not running away from anyone and the chase is not necessary. Happiness patiently awaits for the person who KNOWS themselves well; who KNOWS what circumstances make them happy. Those with this knowledge then need only to meet their own standards for “being happy” and Happiness is immediately present in their lives! No chase is necessary and is, in fact, futile. One may as well chase the wind. Know this as well: Happiness is achieved by way of your external standards. For example, if your standard of Happiness is to please your partner, you must prioritize the pleasing! If you fail to meet your standard, your happiness will burst like a bubble. If, however, you are desiring that sense of “happiness” that is permanent - you are instead, seeking JOY. Joy is the internal and continuous sense of well-being that is not dependent on external standards. Abraham Maslow labeled this continuous state of well-being Self-Actualization. The most common understanding of this state of wellbeing is a Spiritual presence that overrides any external occurrence. One might sense a feeling of disappointment but the internal Joy holds steady.
