National Apprenticeship Week - Nov. 13-19

The Council of State Governments has worked with several states to establish or enhance apprenticeship programs. CSG and the Urban Institute have partnered on initiatives promoting public sector apprenticeship since 2021, when they launched the nation’s first public sector apprenticeship consortium.

Today, they’re continuing this work with Maine, Idaho, and other states across the country, thanks to the support of Ascendium Education Group .

"Registered Apprenticeship programs can help public sector employers to increase the appeal and accessibility of public service careers by providing paid on-the-job training, mentorship, progressive wage increases, and often, the opportunity for college credit." - Mary Wurtz, CSG Policy Analyst

Our Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth (CAPE-Youth) recently discussed a new apprenticeship program in Colorado with ApprenticeshipUSA.
