A Reaction to the WHO’s World Mental Health Report: Transforming Mental Health for All

Today the World Health Organization released its largest review of the state of the world’s mental health since the turn of the century. It’s inspiring to see a global picture of the move toward better mental health for all, with a specific focus on reshaping our environments - including our workplaces - and rethinking where, when, how and who delivers care.

While there is a lot to digest, three important sections in the nearly 300-page report immediately resonated with me:

  • “Relevant and reliable information and research are needed to ensure that transformative policies, plans and evaluations for mental health reform are informed by evidence.” We recognize that organizations like Headspace Health have a critical role to play in informing how we as global society tackle this immense challenge. As a mental health and wellbeing company operating in 190+ countries, our data and insights can provide valuable learnings about what works and what doesn’t when it comes to care models and their related outcomes across geographies, populations and cultures.
  • “In many settings, digital technologies offer promising tools, and can strengthen mental health systems by providing ways to inform and educate the public, train and support health care workers, deliver remote care, and enable self-help.” The WHO recognizes the critical role that evidence-based technology must play in the spectrum of care. In addition to the high value that virtual care can play in solving for stigma and access challenges, there is a tremendous and untapped opportunity to support individuals and populations early on in their mental health journeys. Technology can and must play an outsized role in driving prevention at scale.
  • “We must reshape the physical, social and economic characteristics of environments – in homes, schools, workplaces and the wider community – to better protect mental health and prevent mental health conditions.” Workplaces, in particular, play a critical role in shaping our day-to-day experience and our overall mental health. The good news is that with return-to-work efforts and a newly mobile workforce, leaders of organizations around the world are finally recognizing their role in transforming their workplaces into sources of psychological safety, compassion, and mental health strength.

It’s difficult not to get bogged down by the staggering statistics and headwinds outlined in the onset of the report. But failure isn't an option and we have to continue to put one foot in front of the other. At Headspace Health, we continue to be guided by our mission to transform mental healthcare to improve the health and happiness of the world. This transformation will require a  global commitment – by all of us – to drive change toward a world where everyone is kind to their mind and receives access to the care they need.

Postural behaviour will help to feed the mental behaviour as per scientific guidelines, but this industry is going under influence culture, which resulting the self acknowledgment failure and follow the trend of stress. As per science , life is defined design of heat, light , time frame and gravity that has to be balanced which will create a life. Again what is mental health and it’s awareness. Human population will be on actual path if every human body will aware with their own image and it’s behaviour. From the journey of prospective to behavioural image of life population is lacking the actual part of cognitive phase which has be changed accordingly that will be a next move in humans health either it’s physical or mental. What is mental health? A big problem with mental health awareness is due to human approach towards health , stress is not a word of pain it’s a lifestyle now, dealing with stress disorders with this cognitive phase of mindset will never work properly, this graph will keep going up and down the line more stress business will keep on growing as per revenue and social security. If initiative will work like this mental health and physical health will never balanced in human life , even animals can’t escape from this behaviour how the human will??? According to our evolution system human will always getting pressure of darkness into their life if you can relate darkness with gravity ,human life is having a balanced human body and it’s by default process to resist the pressure of gravity or darkness. Human body is the best mechanism of system which has to be balanced in every parameters , physical needs including the vitals will synch equally to give proper command over brain to get actual results over cognitive mental health. Illusive mental health awareness will never work in any circumstances if possibilities are not available under the physical needs. This fast growing evolution is keep changing the human body postural behaviour.
