Ready, Set, Action!

Ready, Set, Action!

For as long as I can remember, I enjoy being the person behind the scenes. Yeah, I mean that unknown face solving problems, making things happen, and keeping things running smoothly. I liked it that way. As a matter of fact, I am not eager to be the spotlight or step in front of the camera.

If I had to make a comparison, think of me as the “puppet master”. But not in the way you think of puppet masters. More like the guy pulling the strings behind the scenes, making sure everything goes according to plan.

But here’s the catch. Sometimes, the game changes.

A few months ago, our team decided it was time to share our knowledge with the world—through video content. Now, this was a big shift for me. As much as I love solving problems and getting things done, the idea of being on camera? Hmmm. In fact, my immediate reaction was to resist. I looked for every possible loophole I could find to avoid being the "face" of the videos.

I mean, why would I want to be on camera when I could do my best work behind the scenes? I told myself. But after some conversations and a nudge (okay, maybe a shove) from the team, I realized something important: sharing knowledge is more than just solving problems. It's about engaging, inspiring, and connecting with others. It’s about making that personal impact. And sometimes, that requires stepping outside of your comfort zone.

So, I took the plunge. And guess what? It wasn’t so bad after all. In fact, I ended up enjoying the process more than I thought I would. The lesson here? Sometimes, the things we resist the most are the things that can push us to grow the most. If you’re like me and prefer to stay in the background, I get it. But every once in a while, you’ve got to step into the spotlight, even if it feels uncomfortable at first.

And for those who are still thinking, “I’d rather be the one behind the curtain,” I’m right there with you. But trust me, the view from the other side isn’t as scary as it seems.

We recently shared our first video in this new initiative, and if you're curious about how it went, I’d love for you to check it out. If you like what you see, don’t forget to hit that "like" button!
