Reflection: Talener's 17th Anniversary
On April 2, 2007, Talener began its journey as a contract staffing agency. In the first month, we filled two technical contract positions, Alex at WorldNow and Rahul at Dexia Credit Local. I can only image what they were thinking when they walked into our tiny office to sign their PCAs (professional contract agreements). They must have been wondering, “How are these guys going to pay me $16,000 a month?"
Over the years we’ve established ourselves as a premier staffing agency across the United States for contract and permanent positions. I cannot thank everyone enough for their role in helping build Talener. Our employees, contractors, clients, and candidates have been the heart and soul of this operation. Building a people-centered business is an awesome business to be in! It’s never boring and it will challenge you every day.
We stay committed to our core principles: outstanding customer service, transparency across every aspect of the business, specializing in the placement process, local expertise and delivering extraordinary results.
Like most businesses, we have had our ups and downs. Promoting staff, watching them develop into leaders, opening new offices, doing deals with brand new clients, or getting someone into a new job after a long search are just some of our more memorable highlights.

However, on April 2, 2020, just 4 years ago, while we should have been celebrating another anniversary, we had to lay off some very talented team members. It became very apparent that COVID was no longer a passing blip on the radar. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about how the pandemic affected these team members. April 2nd is no longer just a day of celebration, but a reminder about how quickly things can and do change - for better or worse.
As we begin our 17th year, we continue to have much to be thankful for. Our back office is run by our CFO Christopher Sapka and VP of Operations, Leah Singer-Clavette . They are doing a remarkable job supporting our employees, consultants, and community. They are moving us forward – updating our website, delivering information, and much more (keep an eye on our website for several new changes!). Additionally, we start this 17th year with the promotion of Bethany (Arnold) Moulthrop to VP of Client Services.
We have worked tirelessly to always doing right by our clients, candidates we represent and our coworkers. Thank you to everyone for making these past 17 years so memorable and rewarding. I am looking forward to hiring the next future leaders of Talener, seeing our staff reach their goals, and proving ourselves to all of the future clients we haven’t met yet! - Michael Dsupin
