REIMAGINING AFRICA!
Africa! What springs to mind when you hear the name of the continent? Are you filled with positivity and upbeat thoughts or rather do thoughts of doom and gloom engulf you. The narratives of #Africa and the imagery of the continent can often be shrouded in a sea of negativity. Admittedly, there are real issues and challenges which cannot be glossed over. Despite this, a change in perception can go a long way to steering the continent to positive territory. I love Africa and I believe in the #potential of this continent which is often underestimated. Africa will only take its rightful place on the globe when Africans decide to celebrate and fully invest in the positive aspects of the continent. What can we celebrate about the continent? Instead of disparaging and derogatory views we can harness the power of positivity to change a continent. From Cape to Cairo the continent is endowed with rich natural resources including minerals and landscapes that are overwhelmingly beautiful. What are some of the assets we have as a continent? We have a phenomenal resource base for economic growth, and we only need to channel these resources to impact the lives of the people of Africa. Africa is a remarkably creative continent. From rich cultural heritage pulsating with the cultural traditions, activities and cultures that attract visitors from around the world. The human capital on this continent is formidable, education has raised a pool of talent in every sphere. We need to create more opportunities for employment, especially for the youth of this continent. There is need to fix the gaze of the inhabitants of Africa on the positive aspects and work wholly towards building a strong and united continent.

As we reimagine our continent, we begin to envisage a successful prosperous continent. We need to daily take ownership of building a continent in every action and task reaching towards success and a continent reimagined.
