"REMARKABLE"

As a local guy from Lubbock Texas playing the "Tex Mex" sound comes and that guy named Mike Pritchard. After giving his album called "The Way I See It" Mike brings in the full musical guns. With the first song called "Don't Leave Her Cryin' In The Night". With this song leading the album forwards Mike just nails it, Mike and guitar in hand loaded and ready to blow you away. True talent that is my first impression upon listening to Mikes album. The album from 2001 called "The Way I See it" Mike is a true singer songwriter that has rough, yet sensitive Texas Mex sound from his band and adds his softer side with his remarkable lyrics and vocal range to make it a signature mark on your musical pallet. As I listened to this just really great album Mike brings in the sound of blues but has such a soft side that at times I feel like I wasn't listening to blues. Mike Brings in the element of magic with his tender voice. With the 2nd song called "Jaqueline" Mike, ups the ante when he blows you away with his awesome ability to play a song and make it real and just phenomenal guitar licks that are unique and bold. Once again Mike and his lyrical content brings your ears in for more. As I listened I thought how come I have never had my ears bent in Mikes direction. Mike brings the total sound together in a masterpiece of song and music continually. The third track called "Since you Left Me" Mike continues his tradition of excellent songwriting and music, the horn section of Don Wise this song just cuts the cake, and just blew me away as a music reviewer. With this, moving through the album track by track "You're The Center Of My Universe" Mike ushers in that sound of tremendously awesome blues and has a sound that goes unmatched and has a sound that really sets this album apart from the rest. Once again with his amazing ability to mix a song with superbly written lyrics and added vocals of Lesley Sawyer just makes the sound that rings truthfulness and sensitive. As I listened I just realized how much real talent is involved in this project of Mike Pritchard. Mike brings his ability to make a song sound so real & tangible and so much feeling to it. A perfect example is the song called " I've Got Your Heart" the music is just phenomenal. I am totally impressed all the way through. I personally fell in love with the song "Wednesday Morning" where Mike projects that softer side and sensitive lyrics and I honestly had to keep that particular song in repeat mode for a couple of spins. Mike showcases his ability to be a musician as he plays a harmonica that is simply put breathtakingly beautiful. The beat doesn't stop there, with the song "Make Up A Lover" Mike has a unique sound of blues and keeps that wonderful momentum moving. As I listened further Mike and the band is just amazing. With the next song "It's Your Pride" is just another reason to keep your ears glued to the album because this album in my opinion is a wonderful example of what I call "Needs to be Heard". As the next song played called "Do Me A Favor" Mike just knocks at the door of blues and it opens up wide to hear that crisp voice of Mike singing abilities and songwriting and putting it all together to make a perfect mix. The guitar work of Mike and lead guitarist Joe Don Davidson is a Kick Butt and take no prisoners kind of sound as they continue to rip into the song and I was simply blown away by that sound that emitted from my speakers. One of the last songs called "I'll Be There" Mike and band slow down the tempo a little just to allow your ears to open up to the sheer talent of Mike Pritchard."Out Of My Lonely Mind" Mike and band just simply put, Holy Crap, what an incredible sound and wonderful experience. If you are into music that is okay, but if you are into the cream of the crop and remarkable guitar slinging and songwriting, if you will the "Whole Enchilada" this is where it is Mike Pritchard and band deserve your attention. My many thanks to Mike Pritchard for allowing me to be on his musical journey and allowing me to hear his superior talent. I am a true believer and a lifelong fan and always will.
