Resolutions That Don't SUCK
Well, you did it. You survived the holidays! But now is the hard part...
That same critical view you've felt about your cousin that "has no self-awareness" or that brother that just "can't seem to commit to anything" now tends to shift to your mirror heading into the blank slate of a new year.
I have a 3-sentence tagline that I've adopted over the last few years that sums up my desires and guides my decisions every day...
"Take more risks. Have more faith. Be more creative."
And no, I didn't see those on some bumper sticker on a Prius, either! I slowed down long enough to look internally and decide "WHO" I wanted to be, not just "what" I wanted to accomplish. I want to be the type of person who's comfortable with risk, has the faith to see the results before they're visible, and is creative to find the solutions where others might give up. The desire for that identity guides my decisions.
So, as you prepare for a new year, spend the time answering "Who do I want to be this year?" instead of "what do I want to accomplish?" and watch how much clarity you have in developing the steps in becoming that person. When the "WHO" is clear, the "what" falls in line.
See you on the battlefield,
Bryce Kenny
