We are all more and more used to get products not only on the shop shelves, but also to order them via smartphone by using our favourite App, or via PC, to receive them from a courier that delivers home or in a collecting point nearby our address. All this one is really great, and it's possible as a result of a complex, and transparent process that works in the back stage. Stores delivery or home delivery are different process that many times must coexist in the Distribution Center : key target of the former is "efficient and on time delivery" , while the latter main focus is "optimized cost effective delivery". Logistic managers of big retailers must identify the right strategy to maximize productivity of some areas of the plant, and increase flexibility in some other, that are created to fullfil e-commerce demand. The smart use of ERP and WMS is the KSF for a sucessful business, and real-time, reliable and consistent DATA are the foundations of the whole logical and physical building. That's why there are probabilities that your latest purchase has been possible with the contribution of a Datalogic solution.
