A Review of "The Secret Red Book of Leadership" on Amazon.com
I am happy to share the review of “The Secret Red Book of Leadership” by Mr Bimal on Amazon.com
"I bought the kindle edition some time back but have not been keen to turn the pages thinking that it would have well known stuff on the subject of Leadership. One day the words “Secret” and “Red” in the title caught my attention. Thus I decided to read and finished it.
The book has a different perspective on Leadership to start with. It elaborates on the myth surrounding Leadership. The conclusion is that a leader need not be necessarily perfect and virtuous. Complete virtuosity belongs to the realm of Sage and Saints and not of leaders. What is needed for a leader is a balanced blend of virtue and evil. E.g., a deceit may be needed to deceive a deceit and the reward or joy is doubled. The analysis on what is more important, means or end, is interesting and the it offers a practical way out. It extensively quotes from successful leaders from past and present eras. The anecdotes are refreshing.
Though the book recognises importance of non-traditional qualities of a leader: he or she need not be fully compassionate or a perfect listener to the core, it would be a mistake to assume that the book shuns conventional good qualities for a leader.
Though not strictly a text book on the subject of leadership, it serves the purpose as a practical guide. I guess that the author has also the intended the same: a practical guide. Recommended to those who want to cultivate leadership qualities.
"The Secret Red Book of Leadership" is available at highly discounted price online for limited period only.
