The Right Attitude

The Right Attitude

ATTITUDE IS A LITTLE THING THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE - WINSTON CHURCHILL

How important is “Attitude” to a job interview. Sir Churchill was so right, attitude makes a big difference. Your skills open doors, but it is your attitude that gets you in.

Skills being alike, a positive attitude and passion towards the job is what will set you apart from the crowd.

Try these simple things to help you get closer to that dream job.

DEVELOP A POSITIVE OUTLOOK -

Work on building your confidence. Keep telling yourself that “ You are the right person for the job “. Don’t get caught up in self doubt. “Can I do this?”

Imagine yourself showing up for the interview all positive and upbeat. Listen to songs that give you a positive vibe - Happy by Pharrell Williams does it for me.

No employer can turn down an applicant who is upbeat and full of energy. “People may hear your words, but they feel your attitude.” John C. Maxwell

BE TENACIOUS -

Not every door you knock will open for you. It’s perhaps not the right one. It took me 11 interviews to land the job I wanted. Use rejection as an opportunity to learn and get better. Introspect and see what you could have done better in the interview. Work on that.

Believe firmly in yourself. Keep at it.

BE COACHABLE -

Willingness to learn, listen to feedback and take constructive criticism is part and parcel of every job. Work on coachability, it shows people that you are open for change and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done well.

SHOW ENTHUSIASM -

Showing interest in the role and the company, gives potential employers confidence about how important the role is to you. Employers need to know, that you will put in your best efforts on the job and that you will not give up.

REMEMBER SKILL GOT YOU THE INTERVIEW, YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE WILL SEAL THE DEAL.

GOOD LUCK !
